The Stain of Israel

Yesterday I wrote how tragic and disheartening it was to see the proud nation of Israeli waste the goodwill felt by rational people around the world towards the state of Israel, as a consequence of its horrific past history in Europe. So many died, that the world, the entire world, felt an obligation to rectify what our species had done.

I warned that the increasingly fascist government of Netanyahu was about to stain the citizens of Israel with something they would not be able to wash off. When a democratic nation elects a war criminal and allows, even supports, the psychopathic actions, which we are seeing committed now against the Palestinians, then "People," who fail to stop the madmen, will wear the stain of having committed the austerities and the crimes against humanity, right along with the government that fired the missiles and dropped the bombs.

History will not separate Israeli citizens from the Israeli psychopaths at the top of government. We've seen that stain on people before, and we've seen it takes generations before trust can be rebuilt between those stained and the rest of the civilized world.

The American government and, it would appear, many, if not most, of its citizens support the actions of Israel. Regrettably, Americans have accepted the stain many times in the past 12 years, but they assume that America rules the world and the stain is something that can be ignored. America has commited war crimes, but now, by standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel, America is about to be stained again, and this stain may be much worse than any of the others.

The attached story strongly suggests that Israel is targeting UN refugee compounds, UN staff, and civilians sheltering in these compounds. This means Israel knows that the people in these locations are women, children, the sick, the disabled, and non-combatants, which also means Israel is intentionally, with malice and forethought, killing women, children, the sick, the disabled, and non-combatants. Americans do not and have NEVER supported anything as egregious as this. Such actions defile our nation, our history, and are quintessentially un-American. Americans DO NOT kill innocent, men, women, and children and if we support those who do, we ARE NO BETTER than those who do the killing.

This is a war crime that America has yet to be accused of; there may be no crimes more vial than that of  targeting civilians. Our contempt for such actions empowered the men and women who fought in World War II to the point that they were truly invincible and their invincibility was based on a simple American principle. American DON'T kill innocents.

However, by remaining silent in the face of these barbaric attacks on civilians, this intentional murder of innocents, America and Americans are going to have to share in the disgrace, and bare the mark that accompanies such acts. The stain is about to be passed and the Americans who blindly support Israel and openly embrace the most recent disgrace by our species are about to be marked for life.

The world is watching, and it will not forget, because it has been there before.

Netanyahu: The Middle East's New Pariah

Netanyahu is, in my opinion, almost single handily destroying the goodwill that exists in the world toward Israel and the Israelis. The Israeli society, its conscience and its legacy now appears to be largely under control of their government's propaganda and the influence of what appears to be a mad man.

Over 60% apparently supporting the war and the ground invasion. Overall support for the continued occupation, appears high, while support for peace seems absent or poorly represented, at best. However, their lost  humanity is very likely to be something they are going to miss as they sit back and watch Netanyahu turn Israelis into barbarians and Israel into the next pariah state.

The tragic history of the Jews has meant that, among rational people, there has always been a great measure of sympathy and a great measure of goodwill directed towards them. For reasons that seem to verge on the psychopathic, Netanyahu is now flushing every bit of both down the toilet.

Once a national leader becomes a war criminal there is no easy way back to respectability, especially when the war criminal was democratically elected. Israel is at a cross road. The stain of Netanyahu will shortly be passed to the people of Israel and it is a stain that will take years or decades to fade. Israel is running out of time and chances; they need to, they have to, they must retake their country, retake their nation, but NOT from the Palestinians, instead they need to retake it from the fascist within.

The world is watching, and it will not forget.

Petr King: He doth protest too much!

Recently I have heard several, what I think are generally reliable, journalists say that they have read reports (studies) that show that the more extreme you are in a particular position, for instance being anti-gay, the more likely the person is to be actually gay. I offer the following link, although, I haven't independently confirmed the information.

An overly extreme position on a subject and the associated implications regarding sincerity is not uncommon. Almost everyone has come across the saying I used to open this essay. "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." We can thank Shakespeare and his moderately successful Hamlet for the quote. The quote is now interpreted to mean that people who protest something too loudly or too blindly or too irrationally are likely to be insincere and their motives should be suspect, at best.

In elementary school, the eloquent quote was reduced to the somewhat more crude, but equally accurate "he who smelt it, dealt it."

In this particular case Peter King has been one of the main, if not the main puppet for the NSA. His complete and utter acceptance of everything they do leaves me feeling that there is more to his warm and fuzzy relationship with the NSA than meets the eye. Please allow me to digress briefly before making my main point. Much, if not most, of what Peter King says about the activities of the NSA are lies or his comments reveal that Peter King is a terribly undereducated person. Many years ago there was a computer term called a "relational database." The term simply means that you can collect different sets of data in different databases and then merge them to form a more complete database. King is fond of saying that the NSA collects only phone numbers, call targets and call durations; which would constitute one data base. Telephone service providers have a database of phone numbers matched with names and in many cases, billing address and credit card numbers. With a couple of keystrokes, the NSA can merge these 2 databases to create a database that now contains names, phone numbers, call durations, call targets, credit card information and address. Snowden as released documents that show that the NSA has access to service provider databases and as had access for many years, which means these databases were merged long ago and continue to be updated. So every time King persists in his story, he is either lying or stupid or, and I think this is most likely, BOTH!

A member of congress recently asked the NSA if it spied on members of congress. The NSA wrote a response that basically said YES. What does this mean exactly? Here is a short list of things that the NSA might know about each and every congressperson and senator, I'm sure you can think of many more.

• alcohol use
• sexual orientation
• bribes taken
• bribes offered
• use of prostitutes
• use of racial or ethic slurs
• contacts with known criminals or members of organized crime
• extramarital associations
• access to pornographic web sites
• sexual perversions
• details of campaign financing

As you can see, even this short list offers huge potential for blackmail. With this information the NSA could get any senator or congressperson to say anything. NSA holds there political careers in the palm of their hand and can crush it out of existence with one leaked story.

Now that we know, in great detail, all the abuses of the NSA, I must ask the simple question: "Why do we have people like Peter King and Dianne Feinstein supporting the NSA so adamantly and so completely and so enthusiastically, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary?"

The same questions can also be asked of many media pundits and commentators.

The lady doth indeed protest too much, methinks. Which leads me to wonder why people like King and Feinstein are so completely and unabashedly willing to say black-is-white, up-is-down and in-is-out when it comes to supporting the NSA?

In my opinion, the answer is straight forward and clear. The NSA knows things about them that would end their careers and they are willing to say and do anything the NSA asks, which includes looking straight into the camera and telling anyone who will listen, the exact opposite of the truth.
